We pulled into the driveway of his house. It was a cute house; not too big, but not uber small either. It was a shade of dark green, there was a porch with a porch swing on it, and there were a couple of plants on either side of the door. He came around to open my door, and as I hopped out of the car, it started to rain. We danced in the rain for a little while, then he wrapped his arms around me and we went inside. He turned on the light in the living room. He had just recently moved in. I could tell by the stacks of boxes.
“Sorry about the mess,” he said. “Oh, you probably need some dry clothes.” He led me to the bedroom, which seemed to be all unpacked, except for a couple boxes in the corner. He opened the top drawer of his dresser and handed me some sweatpants and a T-shirt. “The bathroom is just down the hall. First door on the left.”
“Thanks,” I said as I headed towards the bathroom. I changed quickly then went back to Cameron’s room where I found him messing around with his guitar. When I entered, he quickly put the guitar down and patted the spot next to him on his bed. I sat beside him and we just talked about everything and anything until about two in the morning. He had a queen sized bed, so we both slept there. No, we didn’t have sex, but yeah, we slept together. As in he held me in his arms until we were both asleep. He was so warm. It was so comforting being in his arms. I felt so safe, like nothing could go wrong. Maybe we were taking things too fast. I know, we just met that day. But it felt like we’d known each other our whole lives. Everything was just… right.
The next morning, I woke up to his smiling face, still wrapped in his arms. He looked like an angel; his hair a mess, but a sexy mess. “Morning, beautiful,” he said with that smile of his.
I could feel myself turning red. I couldn’t even remember the last time I was called that. “Did you sleep well?” he asked me.
“Yeah, I did actually,” I replied.
“Great to hear,” he said with a smile. “I’m gonna make some breakfast, wanna help?”
“Sure.”
We got up and walked to the kitchen, holding hands.
It was raining outside, my favorite kind of weather; cuddle weather.
He opened his empty fridge and said, “How ‘bout we go get something instead? I know this great little café, it’s a couple blocks away… we can walk if you wanna.”
“Yeah, sounds great.”
He went to brush his teeth and got a spare toothbrush for me. After we brushed our teeth, he asked, “Do you want a sweatshirt? It’s cold and raining outside.”
Without giving me time to answer, he pulled me back to his room and got me a white hoodie that said Allstar Weekend in fancy blue letters on the front. I put on the hoodie, pulled my hair into a messy bun, and slipped into my TOMS while Cameron grabbed his sweatshirt, threw on a pair of jeans, and put his converse on. I felt so comfortable around him, I didn’t even care that I was in sweats with messy hair and no make up.
We both grabbed our phones and walked towards the door. He picked up his key that was on the coffee table. We walked out, he locked the door, grabbed my hand again, and we started walking.
